My Chosen Genre - Melodramas

• A melodrama is a dramatic work that exaggerates plots and characters in order to make the audience emotional or cry.
• They often have strongly stereotyped characters.
• Language, behaviour or events which resemble melodramas are also called melodramatic.
• The plots tend to deal with failed romance or friendship, strained familial situations , tragedy, illness, or emotional or physical hardship.

• The Horror genre tries to get a negative emotional reaction from viewers by playing on the audience's primal fears.
• The macabre and the supernatural are frequent themes.
• Horror films often deal with the viewer's nightmares, hidden fears, revulsions and terror of the unknown.

• Comedy is a genre of film in which the main emphasis is on humour.
• These films are made to entertain the audience through amusement.
• They often work exaggerating characteristics of real life for humorous effect.
